Thou shalt not see thy brother’s ox or his sheep go astray, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt in any case bring them again unto thy brother. Deut. 22:1
Tonight’s devotional thought will be what you have come to expect from this blog – only a simple thought. The world we live in has made us to conform into very individualistic people. Everything is automated so we do not have to talk to another person. The other day I sent picture to Wal-Mart to be printed online as my wife was standing at the counter. She immediately saw the pictures come out. She told the man her name and she got the pictures. Wow. We took the life, the humans, and the conversation right out of that thing.
God did not create us to be Lone Rangers, if I may use that expression (rant: btw the way I hate that expression. Not the Lone rangers but the “may I use that expression” expression, preachers retire it). Here in Deuteronomy 22 we are told that if we see our brothers (neighbors) oxen going astray we should not act as if we do not see it and ignore the problem. We are to go and tell him so he can deal with it.
I must admit the more people God allows to be in my life I get to minister to the more I have a tendency to ignore the stray oxen. Obviously, here in Alpharetta we do no have any oxen but we do have some marriages going astray, we do have some harmful habits, we do have many things that would be more harmful then losing some cattle.
I recommit to being the shepherding servant God has called me to be. I will warn my brothers of the oxen that are going astray and offer to help him fix his fence.

Great thoughts. I prefer automated banking/shopping/travelling, but the technology can completely cut out person-to-person interaction and consequently witnessing and assisting opportunities.
And may I use the expression "may I use that expression” if afterwards I admit to not liking it?
