For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? 1 Corinthians 14:8
In this passage the Apostle Paul is teaching by inspiration of God about the gift of tongues. He is helping the Corinthian church get a proper understanding of the purpose of this spiritual gift and lays out what is “decently in order” for the use of it.
He has a strong emphasis on the value of a word understood verses that of words that cannot be understood. As an uncertain sound in battle is not only ineffective but dangerous.
Men who lead in a church or family with an uncertain sound are not only ineffective but dangerous. I want my life to in harmony with the message I preach. I want my message be in harmony with the scripture.
