Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs. Daniel 1:9
I have the great honor and opportunity to bring the sermon for the service at Vision Baptist Church this coming Sunday morning. The subject from our passage in our series in Philipians is contentment. There is much more to contentment than being satisfied with your financial circumstances.
I have been praying and will continue to pray that God will work in and through me as I preach. I love and respect the people I will be preaching to. I love the Word of God that I will be a mouth piece. I strongly desire that God’s favour will be on the message and God’s people will find the freedom that contentment brings.
As much as I believe in prayer I will not stop there. I have found from the scripture and experience that God places where preparation has been made. Daniel found “favour and tender love” with the prince. This was something beyond his control that he had to be “brought into” by God. With that being said, Daniel did on the human side all that he could do. He stood by his convictions, he portrayed the right attitude for God’s glory, he was dependent upon God.
As I prepare for Sunday I will keep this passage in mind. I am asking God to do what only He can do. I will also do all that I can do in preparation.
