To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? 0

Feb2

To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. Isaiah 1:11

What a powerful question! To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? As I meditated upon this verse today I found myself asking the students I spoke with today this question. You chose to a Christian college and there is a long list of things you do not do but to what purpose?

As with Saul I have found myself going through the motions of what I believe to be right with out much consideration of what would truly please God. I become robotic in the “do” level of my life because I am void of passion on the “be” level. It is as if I go into auto pilot when I stop to be led by the Word of God working in my heart.

I always leave a college campus excited and frustrated. I am excited for the students who responding reasonably to God command to go to all nations. My frustration comes from seeing hindrances in the life of the students that I also can find in my own life. This verse reminds me that a pragmatic ministry will not please Him. He has things to for me to do, but this only can be done it I will “be” what He wants me to be.
