Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, Job 1:20

Job did not only respond well, he responded with worship! He did not only not become bitter but he bowed himslef to worship God. Wow. What an amazingly different perception then when we say “let’s prepare to worship” in this day in our churches.

I must confess I have not worshiped God in much better environments. In Job’s circumstance I would not stop but would run around gathering information. When tragedy hits we use details to medicate the problem hoping that it is not as bad as it sounds. I might would have tried to quickly regathered my lost servants from the Chaldeans. Probably the last thing I would have done would have been to stop and worship.

I have often associated activity with worship. I see from the life of Job that there are times in life we need to stop, see God for who He is, and simply worship Him regardless of what has or is about to happen.
