A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished. Proverbs 27:1
Over the last few nights I have been in coalition (my word of the week) with two great youth pastors. We held the 2nd Annual Consumed Teen Revival. On Wednesday night chad Luke from Corinth Baptist Church preached a very needed message on a the proper teenage response to authority. On Thursday night Josh Ayers preached a powerful message on wholly following the Lord. You can and should see it online at the media section on www.visionbaptist.com. I had the opportunity of preaching last night and I brought a sermon concerning our need to share Christ with our friends by preaching about a death just outside a city of Refuge.
The verse above made me remember a story that Chad Luke told on Wednesday night. He told how, some years ago, he was driving way to fast down the high with his friend looking ahead with binoculars for police. It was a hilarious story. In this verse we see the prudent man forseeth evil and hideth himself. Over the last month God has really shown me my need to not only look ahead for evil in the life of my teenagers but also for myself.I have seen too many friends fall to the wayside. I want to have my binoculars out.
