When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again

When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow. Deut. 24:20

The Bible is such a wonderful book. Our God is so kind and compassionate. He made provision for the strangers, the fatherless, and the widows. We live in a nation that spends about 120% of what they make each year. A nation that has tried to take the responsibility of caring for those in need away from the church. I have read many books on finances and looked at my budget many, many times. I have been encouraged to have a zero budget. That would be a budget that puts everything I have into a column so after giving and  living expenses I would have nothing left to budget out.

This verse is another reminder to me that I need to learn to live below what I receive. I need to get to a point where I would have money left over for others after I have given and paid for all that I am responsible.
