But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him

But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see. Deuteronomy 3:28

We find God speaking to Moses and giving him instructions concerning Joshua. It is always interesting to see what actions God tells a man to do towards another man. It gives us a insight into what our ministries should be for one another.

Here God tells Moses to charge Joshua. This simply means he is to help show him what God’s plan is for the people and how Joshua fits into it. Thus showing Joshua what he should be doing. Secondly we find he is to encourage Joshua. Not only should he charge Joshua but he should encourage him towards involvement.Thirdly we find Moses is to strengthen Joshua. Not only encourage him but equip him for what he will be doing.

I have been charged, encouraged, and strengthened by many along the way. I want to be involved in the disciplemaking process. Tomorrow I will allow God to do these three things through my life to some young people.
