And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates. Deuteronomy 6:9
I have seen this many times as I have visited homes in the city where the church I serve at is located. I have seen a small container on the top right corner of the door frame at the homes I have visited. I knew inside the container was a small scroll that contained scripture verses. Jewish people have and still do take this portion of scripture very literal.
There is a wonderful principle to be learned here. The Word of God should be evident in our homes. My wife and I will be discussing more ways to make sure that our son and daughter will grow up with the Word of God being shown through out the house. It will not only be seen on the walls but in the hearts of their parents.
