Be honest with yourself…

This poster speaks for itself. I love youth ministry and because of that I love youth pastors, workers, and volunteers. Better yet, I love God so I love seeing people discipled to bring Him glory. So as a result I love youth ministry and all that comes with it. However, I believe that the youth room contains more Jonahs who are supposed to beheaded to Ninevah than any other room in the church. So many youth pastors think becuase a church has called them to fill a position that the God of Heaven is unable to call them to a place on the other side of the world. We once struggled with wanting to know God’s will for lives and after a few years of life after college we struggle not to be entangled with the affairs of this life.

The question I ask my fellow youth workers is a questions I ask myself today, “Is the thing between you and the mission field a ‘selfish excuse’?”
